PARADISE LOST

Of Mans First Disobedience, and the Fruit

Of that Forbidden Tree, whose mortal taste

Brought Death into the World, and all our woe,

With loss of EDEN

John Milton

Paradise Lost draws inspiration from John Milton’s epic poem, serving as a starting point for a series of paintings, works on paper, textiles, performances, and photographs.

In this body of work, I explore how collective cultural concepts — myths, archetypes, and shared stories — have endured and evolved over centuries. Using layered oil painting, artisanal techniques, and storytelling, I trace the ways in which these ancient ideas still resonate in today’s world.

Paradise Lost also connects to my collaboration with British artist and fashion designer Felicity Brown, especially through our Being Eve Journey in 2017 in New Mexico — a project that explored clothing as a medium for personal and collective storytelling.

At the heart of Paradise Lost is a search for how we remember, reinterpret, and renew the cultural foundations that shape who we are.
